Designated drivers are available through local chartered limo service and tours. For lovers of the arts, there are live theatre and art galleries to enjoy. And for those with a passion for the great outdoors—fine golf courses, horseback riding, parks, hiking and biking trails and skiing are all within, or a short drive from Northern Sierra Wine country. Foothills Celebration is held the first Saturday in March. Spend a Saturday afternoon strolling Historic Downtown Grass Valley, enjoying its boutique shops while sampling fine wines, gourmet food and live music. Over 50 wineries and restaurants will be participating in the event and are sure to please everyone’s palate.
Nevada City Foreign Car Show showcases foreign cars and vintage motorcycles. The entries are limited to 1982 and older vehicles. A designated show class allows cars of special interest to enter, such as race cars and other exotics. The cars are be parked along Broad Street in Nevada City for the public to view.
Take a break while browsing through the Foreign Cars to enjoy a robust sampling of local wines at the Wine Stroll that is held from Noon to 3 p.m. on Broad Street. Tickets to the event include a unique Nevada City Wine Glass and tasting at 8 locations.
Nevada City Uncorked is held each September in historic downtown Nevada City and highlights nearly 20 area wineries and restaurants. Locations are set up all within walking distance of each other on Spring, Pine, Broad and Commercial Streets.
Wander through downtown Nevada City, learn the history of our charming town, and enjoy a sampling of local Foothill wines and food. From vintage cabs and buttery chardonnays to delicious crepes and creative California cuisine, there is something for everyone.
